Report: MLW Has Talked With Amazon Over Streaming Rights

MLW is looking for a streaming partner and has reportedly talked to Amazon about bringing the show to Amazon Prime.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports Major League Wrestling and Amazon have talked “in recent weeks” about a partnership. Amazon Prime offers a host of original programming and streamed NFL Thursday Night Football for the past two seasons. Amazon is reportedly still in talks with the NFL about doing more streaming for next season.

Johnson reports that a potential writers strike would make wrestling programming more attractive for Amazon and other streaming services as the work is considered non-union. It is also noted MLW is meeting with other potential outlets and that one person familiar with the conversations said it’s a “fluid situation” and there is “momentum in a few directions with major players.”

MLW signed with ICM Partners on Jan. 14 with an eye on a new tv/streaming deal. MLW Fusion currently airs Saturdays on beIN SPORTS and is available anytime on YouTube. The promotion has done live specials on beIN and held its first pay-per-view in November.

Fightful will continue to keep fans updated on the situation as more information is known.
