Konnan Hospitalized After Testing Positive For COVID-19
Konnan is reportedly not doing well.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Konnan is in the hospital with what is described as a “pretty serious” kidney issue. No further details were given but Meltzer said it’s “very concerning.”
He has posted on social media since Sunday, February 14.
Konnan underwent a kidney transplant in July 2007.
Hugo Savinovich said Konnan tested positive for COVID-19, which was confirmed by Konnan to Lucha Libre Online. The report goes on to say Konnan is out of danger and hopes to be medically discharged on Thursday or Friday to continue treatment at home.

Konnan hasn’t wrestled since 2019 when he competed in Copa Triplemania at AAA Triplemania XXVII. He also competed in MLW’s Battle Riot II that year. He’s been active in AAA, IMPACT Wrestling, and MLW over the years as an on-screen personality and backstage producer, most notably feuding with Salina de la Renta in MLW.
He also appeared on AEW Dynamite in November 2020 as part of an Inner Circle video where the group went to Las Vegas.
