Report: King Of The Ring Special Coming To FOX Networks In October
A new report gives even more credence to the idea that WWE will be presenting a King of the Ring tournament in the very near future.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that WWE will be airing a King of the Ring special on FOX during the first weekend of October. Reportedly, the special will air in different time slots depending on local market schedules and will be a preview of the return of the King of the Ring tournament.
WWE has previously hosted similar local specials for events such as SummerSlam and WrestleMania where there will be a brief television special going over historic moments from events past and previewing the current event
As of this writing, WWE has not confirmed anything regarding a King of the Ring tournament but that is the same weekend of the WWE Draft which is set to begin on SmackDown on October 1 and then move over to Monday Night Raw on October 3.
Previously, it had been reported that WWE would be hosting both a King of the Ring tournament and a female equivalent simultaneously with the finals slated for WWE Crown Jewel which, WWE recently confirmed, will be held on Thursday, October 21, and feature Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar in the main event.
