Report: JBL Not Scheduled To Regularly Appear On WWE TV Going Forward

JBL’s time as a regular part of WWE Raw has reportedly come to an end.

JBL’s time as a regular part of WWE Raw has reportedly come to an end.

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield returned to WWE on the October 17 episode of WWE Raw and introduced the returning Baron Corbin as the new “Modern Day Wrestling God”, as he made it clear that he believed the former King of the Ring had a bright future. The duo was then paired up on WWE Raw over the next few months; they appeared in backstage segments together, and JBL also accompanied Corbin to the ring for his matches. The legend would also join the commentary team while Corbin competed.

Despite joining forces with the former WWE Champion, Corbin’s fortunes did not notably improve in the long run. After he initially picked up a few victories, he went on a losing streak. Corbin has not won a match since he beat Akira Tozawa on the November 14 episode of WWE Raw. After he lost to Dexter Lumis on the February 6 episode, JBL lashed out at the former United States Champion. He told Corbin that there was no “we” as far as the two of them, and he tried to polish a turd, but he failed. JBL then told Corbin that he didn’t deserve to be near him.

PWInsider reports that, following this apparent split, JBL is not scheduled to regularly appear on WWE programming anymore. The report didn’t offer any additional details.

After he retired in 2009, JBL returned to WWE in 2011 and continued to work as a commentator over the years. He stepped away from the company in 2017, though he has continued to make sporadic appearances. JBL was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020.
