Report: Io Shirai Out For Two Months

Io Shirai will reportedly be out of action for two months following an injury suffered on Wednesday’s NXT.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that while the exact injury is not known, Shirai will be sidelined for two months.

Shirai was listed as “day to day” with a tweaked knee on Thursday’s NXT injury report. She was scheduled for an MRI. Shirai posted a photo of a knee brace on her Twitter account on Saturday, but provided no further update on her status moving forward.

Shirai wrestled Toni Storm on Wednesday’s NXT. The match ended in a no contest when Bianca Belair interfered. The NXT injury report highlighted Shirai’s knee tweak as happening when she caught Storm on a dive to the outside. She was seen holding her knee after the dive.
