Report: IMPACT Wrestling Pauses Production On Xplosion

Xplosion is on hiatus.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports IMPACT Wrestling has indefinitely paused production on Xplosion.

Johnson clarifies that the series has not been canceled, but is on an “extended hiatus.” The decision was made in an effort to put more focus on Before The IMPACT, which airs Tuesdays on AXS ahead of IMPACT.

Before The IMPACT began airing on February 16 and features matches and storylines that play into the main show.

Debuting in November 2002, Xplosion was the long-running secondary show for IMPACT Wrestling. The show has found a home on Twitch and IMPACT+ in recent times after originally airing on Sun Sports. Over 850 episodes of Xplosion aired during its run, with the last airing taking place in February.

In 2011, Desmonde Wolfe (Nigel McGuinness in WWE), was named as the Xplosion Commissioner. An Xplosion Championship Challenge Tournament was held under his order. Magnus (Nick Aldis) won the tournament.
