Report: Illnesses To Several Superstars Caused WWE To Make Changes On Television

A few WWE superstars were under the weather this week, which forced WWE to change a couple of segments on Raw and SmackDown.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Finn Balor, Bobby Roode, and Alexa Bliss were all sick this week. Mandy Rose took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that she too has been dealing with a cold.

Balor was sent home from WWE’s Live Event tour in Latin America last week after working the initial show Chile. WWE explained Balor’s absence from Raw as “an injury suffered at the hands of Drew McIntyre.” He was replaced in Mixed Match Challenge by Apollo Crews. Balor, who had been teaming with Bayley, was set to compete in the semifinals against Jinder Mahal and Alica Fox. Balor is still expected to compete this Sunday at WWE TLC against Drew McIntyre.

Bobby Roode reportedly had trouble talking due to his illeness, but still cut a promo on Raw and worked a tag team bout. Roode and Chad Gable won the Raw Tag Team Titles from the Authors of Pain and Drake Mavericks in a 3-on-2 handicap match.

Alexa Bliss reportedly had a bad cold and weak voice, which limited her speaking role on Raw. Bliss was supposed to carry the press conference between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey, but Jax did most of the talking before things broke down into a brawl. Bliss sent out a tweet earlier this week, confirming she wasn’t feeling well.

Mandy Rose also took to social media to reveal that she too has been sick.

Rose was set to face Naomi on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown, but the match was canceled due to, in storyline, Miz booking a tag team bout.
