Report: Davey Richards’ MLW Contract Set To Expire In Spring 2023
Davey Richards’ contract with Major League Wrestling will reportedly be up in the near future.
Davey Richards’ contract with Major League Wrestling will reportedly be up in the near future.
Richards stepped away from wrestling in 2017 after he had knee surgery, and he decided to focus on his studies as he aimed to become a doctor. He returned to the business and signed with MLW after he worked a few dates on the independent scene.
Richards, 39, previously agreed to an extension with MLW in December 2021. In an update, PWInsider reports that Richards’ deal is set to expire in a few months, and if the two sides don’t reach an agreement, the veteran will enter the open market.
During his time with MLW, Richards has held the MLW National Openweight Championship. He also won the Opera Cup in 2021. Richards is a decorated veteran of the business; he is a former ROH World Champion, a three-time ROH World Tag Team Champion, and a five-time TNA World Tag Team Champion. Richards made a one-off return to IMPACT Wrestling at Slammiversary 2022. There, he teamed up with Frankie Kazarian, Nick Aldis, and the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) to beat Honor No More (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Eddie Edwards, PCO, and Vincent).
Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
