Report: Dave Brown To Call AEW Dark; Lanny Poffo, Rock N Roll Express, More Set For Memphis Tribute

All Elite Wrestling is set to pay tribute to Memphis Wrestling this Wednesday, Jan. 8 on AEW Dynamite. The show will emanate from the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi.

It was previously announced that the promotion would pay tribute to Angelo Poffo & Randy Savage, Lance Russell, “Hot Stuff” Eddie & Tommy Gilbert, Brian Christopher, Austin Idol, Dave Brown, The Rock & Roll Express, and “Handsome” Jimmy Valiant. No further details were given.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Dave Brown will call matches on AEW Dark alongside Excalibur, who will try to call matches as close to Lance Russell as possible.

Meltzer also reports Lanny Poffo will be there to honor his brother Randy Savage and father Angelo Poffo, Doug Gilbert will honor Tommy & Eddie Gilbert, and Shane Russell will honor his father Lance. Austin Idol, Jimmy Valiant, and the Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) are also scheduled to be in attendance.

Randy Hales and Brandon Baxter reportedly worked with AEW officials on putting the tribute show together.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Jan. 8
