Brian Pillman Jr. has officially started with WWE NXT, according to a new report.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Pillman Jr. started with NXT this week after he had a tryout in July. Pillman last wrestled at The Gathering IV on August 5. There, he lost to Kerry Morton, who noted that Pillman Jr. would be moving on to “bigger ballfields” after the match.
Per Johnson, there is currently “no rush” to debut Brian, the son of former WWE star Brian Pillman, on TV, as the plan is to get him used to the PC system.
A previous report noted that Pilllman Jr. was slated to be at the WWE NXT TV taping on August 8. This came after he trained at the WWE Performance Center on July 13.
Pillman Jr. previously left AEW when his contract expired in July. His last match for the promotion was at the AEW House Rules event on August 13, where he and Brock Anderson lost to The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn).
In July, Fightful Select reported that Pillman Jr. had been at the WWE Performance Center, and WWE had immediate interest when he became available.
Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
