Report: Bandido Signs Full-Time Contract With Ring Of Honor
ROH has secured yet another star.
Ring Of Honor has been reeling in talents from the independent wrestling scene as of late and signing them to exclusive deals. At the beginning of this month it was reported that former 3-time WWF Tag Team Champion PCO and former AAW Heavyweight Champion Brody King signed with Ring Of Honor. Both PCO and Brody King made their ROH debuts at the post-‘Final Battle’ television tapings in Philadelphia on Saturday night where they joined forces with Marty Scurll to form a trio now known as ‘Villain Enterprises’.
Last night a new report surfaced having to do with another star from the independent scene in the form of current Crash Cruiserweight Champion Bandido signing a full-time contract with Ring Of Honor. The news was first reported by ‘luchablog’ and the site noted that the deal is done but has yet to be announced by ROH. The report adds that Bandido is set to begin with the company in 2019.
Bandido sprung to the eyes of wrestling fans with his unique move-set and ring gear. The luchador has become a regular in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and he’s currently scheduled for their ‘Hand Of Doom’ show on January 18th. Bandido was a part of the ‘All In’ main event and he is spotlighted in various promotions and companies in Mexico. Ring Of Honor exclusive deals do not cover Mexico so Bandido is free to continue working in his home-country alongside Flamita who he held the PROGRESS Tag Titles with and is currently holding The Crash Tag Team Championships with. It was noted within the report that Bandido was a part of a WWE tryout a few months ago but it was not made public and he ended up passing on signing with the sports-entertainment company.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline confirmed the report of Bandido’s signing. The 23-year old ROH star will finish up the remainder of his dates and Dragon Gate’s current tour.
