Report: Akam Of The Authors Of Pain Undergoes Knee Surgery; Timetable For Return Is Two Months
An update on why The Authors Of Pain have not been on WWE television or working live events.
The last match that former RAW Tag Team Champions The Authors Of Pain worked was on January 6th at a WWE live event in Florida. The reason that the duo has not competed since then is because Akam is currently dealing with a leg injury. Dave Meltzer stated during the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that although he does not know the extent of Akam’s injury, the 25 year old Canada-native is hurt and will be out for a couple of months.
(Below is the direct quote from Meltzer. If the quote is used, please credit Wrestling Observer Radio with an H/T to Fightful for the transcription):
“Akam of The Authors Of Pain is hurt. I don’t know the nature [of it] — that’s why we haven’t seen him. I don’t know the nature of the injury. It’s a leg injury [and] he’s gonna be out for a couple of months from what I understand. I’m checking on that. But I did hear that, so that’s why we haven’t seen him.”
The Authors Of Pain were being managed by 205 Live GM Drake Maverick and Maverick ended up costing Akam and Rezar the Tag Titles in early December of 2018. As more information about the status of Akam comes to the forefront, we will continue to update you here on Fightful.
**UPDATE**
