Report: AJ Styles vs. The Undertaker Planned For WrestleMania 36
AJ Styles could potentially have a big match at WrestleMania this spring.
According to a report from WrestleZone, Styles is currently planned to face The Undertaker at this year’s WrestleMania, taking place on April 5 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Styles is currently out with a shoulder injury and has not been seen on WWE television in weeks. Styles is currently being advertised to compete in the Tuwaiq Trophy Gauntlet Match at the WWE Super ShowDown show on February 27.
The former WWE Champion confirmed on his Mixer channel weeks ago that he suffered a separated shoulder in the Royal Rumble. Styles took an inside out bump on a spear by Edge, landing roughly on his shoulder. Styles put “zero blame” on Edge, saying it was his fault. AJ also mentioned that he hopes to have the chance to wrestle Edge in the future.
The Undertaker last made an appearance this past year on the September 10 episode of SmackDown wherevhe was interrupted by Sami Zayn. Undertaker then hit Zayn with a chokeslam after Zayn asked him to leave the ring. The Undertaker has not wrestled since teaming up with Roman Reigns to beat Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre in a tag team match at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view last July.
Undertaker did not wrestle at last year’s WrestleMania, making it the first time he did not wrestle at the company’s biggest show since WrestleMania 16 all the way back in 2000.
