Report: AEW Shut Down Indefinitely, Multiple Weeks Of TV Taped Including All Of TNT Title Tournament

AEW has filmed multiple weeks of television and may not return until social distancing guidelines permit.

Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio revealed that AEW filmed “multiple weeks of television,” including the AEW TNT Championship tournament up until the finals. The most recent batch of tapings was held at an undisclosed location in Georgia, which now has a shelter in place order.

The finals of the tournament are set to take place at Double Or Nothing on pay-per-view in Las Vegas on May 23, but the MGM Grand has been shut down indefinitely.

Dave Meltzer also notes that the same crew that appeared on the 4/1 Dynamite will be present throughout the next few weeks with Chris Jericho doing a lot of television announcing as talent was unable to travel.

Wrestling everywhere has felt the effect of the Coronavirus. WWE has taped up to the 4/8 NXT, including taping WrestleMania for the first time in history.

Night 2 of WrestleMania 36 will take place tonight beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern. It was taped last week at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
