Report: AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 Drew Around 115,000 PPV Buys Globally
All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing fell just shy of the company’s highest gross revenue for a single event.
According to a report from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the May 30th event drew around 115,000 buys (on all platforms globally) for a $6 million total for AEW and its pay-per-view distributors. Based on their estimates, their record high still belongs to Revolution 2021, which they believe grossed just under $7 million.
Double or Nothing was held in front of a sold-out crowd at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Aside from the go-home edition of Dynamite ahead of the event, AEW had not performed in front of a full-house since COVID-19 lockdown measures were first implemented (in the United States) back in March 2020. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that 4,700 tickets were sold, generating approximately $300,000.
After carriers and various cable systems collect the majority of the pay-per-view sales, AEW is believed to have netted around $3 million in revenue from Double or Nothing. This takes into account, PPV buys as well as ticket and merchandise sales.
It must be noted that net revenue does not equal profit. In order to know the profitability of Double or Nothing, an estimate on the event’s expenses would be required, which is currently not available.
