Renzo Rose: Winning The OTT NLW Championship In Milan Will Be Hard To Top In The Future

Renzo Rose discusses his NLW Championship win.

Renzo Rose reflects on getting to win the OTT NLW Championship in his home country.

In OTT’s first show outside the UK and Ireland back in November last year, Showdown in Milan, Renzo Rose would main event the show in his home country of Italy. His opponent would be NLW Champion Trent Seven, a familiar face on the UK and Irish scene. After over 20 minutes of battling for the championship, Rose, who has been part of OTT for the last few years, captured the title.

While sitting down with Fightful’s Corey Brennan recently, Renzo discussed the title win and what it meant to him.

“Yeah. It definitely meant a lot. It’s the first show that OTT did proper outside the UK and Ireland. So it was a big deal altogether. It wasn’t my first OTT main event, but it was definitely the biggest for me. Trent Seven is a great opponent. Been to WWE, now he’s in TNA. It was a tough challenge but it was a great moment and was a big show, we almost sold out the place for the first show in Italy that is not a guarantee for the Italian wrestling scene and winning it in with some of my Irish colleagues but also some italians and my friends and family in the crowd was was a moment that will be hard to top it in the near future, will be very hard but it’s fine like this I won’t change it for any other way, especially because I’ve been a bit naughty, if you say, in Ireland and the UK but in Italy, the reception has been totally different. Like, I’ve been treated like a like a star like a proper you know, hero for the crowd and I wasn’t expecting that. So it was a great moment all together.”

Renzo has since declared that after defeating B Cool with the NLW title on the line, that he will be only defending the championship against fellow imports in the near future.Rose is set to defend the championship at Gaff Party night 2 in Dublin next month against Griffin McCoy.
