Reigns Discusses His Favorite Matches, Respect For Two Fellow WWE Stars
For Roman Reigns, a pair of matchups with longtime WWE veterans stand out as two of the best in his career.
Reigns identified his WrestleMania 32 main event against Triple H and his Last Man Standing match with The Big Show at Payback 2015 as two of his favorites during his recent appearance on Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast.
"The biggest one of them all for me would have to be with [Triple] H. Yeah, man, being in the ring with him and that's another guy that kind of feels like how it is with The Undertaker," Reigns said. "But one I enjoyed and was really rocking was with Big Show. We had that Last Man Standing match in Chicago and it was… Man, it was such a dope match. Like, really cool bumps, and really cool moments, and he's so good, and it's so easy with him."
Reigns also expressed a significant respect for Jericho, and his approach when competing for WWE despite working a part-time schedule some of the time.
"All my respect for you is that you're not like a part-timer," Reigns said of Jericho. "When you come back, you're here. You do the house shows, you do the tours, all the brother time."
Reigns went on to praise the longevity of Jericho's career, describing him as "The Energizer Bunny."
Reigns also spoke to his high opinion of Sheamus. The two were part of a rivalry in late 2015 over the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
"People can have their opinion on Sheamus all they want. He's a crazy Irishman, but I'll always love him," Reigns said. "Like, he works hard and he made me look like a million bucks."
Reigns noted that Sheamus was so effective as a heel that the notoriously tough crowd in Philadelphia was cheering for Reigns.
"Philly liked me and I have to give so much credit to Sheamus for that, and that's why we're close," Reigns said. "Like, that's why I hug him when I see him and that's the deal."
