Randy Orton Refuses To Face Bray Wyatt at Mania; #1 Contender’s Battle Royal Next Week On SmackDown Live

Last night at the end of SmackDown, after Bray Wyatt successfully defended his title against John Cena and AJ Styles, Wyatt's cohort and defacto #1 Contender, Royal Rumble Winner Randy Orton appeared at the top of the ramp, walked to the ring, and said this:

"As long as you are the master and I am the servant, I refuse to face you at WrestleMania."

Wyatt and Orton posed together, in seeming solidarity, and fans were left to wonder what this could mean for the WWE Championship picture at WrestleMania 33, just six weeks away on April 2nd.

They wouldn't have to wonder for long.

At the beginning of last night's episode of Talking Smack, SD Live General Manager Daniel Bryan announced that there will be a #1 Contender's Battle Royal next Tuesday on SmackDown and the winner will go on to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.

We don't know all of the competitors that will be in this Battle Royal, or even how many of them there will be, but we do know that one of them will be AJ Styles, who appeared later on Talking Smack, still upset about not getting his one on one rematch for the title he lost at the Royal Rumble back on January 29.

Nothing was resolved regarding a possible date for an eventual one on one rematch for Styles.

We will keep you updated with all of the news about this Battle Royal and the latest rumors surrounding plans for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
