Quarter-Hour Viewership Numbers For 12/9 Episodes Of AEW Dynamite And NXT
Sting and Shaq draw over a million viewers for AEW on December 9.
The December 9 episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 995,000 viewers, which is up from the 913,000 viewers the December 2 episode drew. This was Dynamite’s best viewership since September 9 when it drew 1.016 million viewers. This week’s episode featured Kenny Omega and Don Callis celebrating Kenny’s title win over Jon Moxley and the first AEW promo from Sting. On the other hand, this week’s NXT show drew 659,000 viewers with their fallout show following TakeOver: WarGames.
AEW was once again dominant in 18-49 demographic, drawing 645,000 viewers while NXT only captured 231,000 viewers in the coveted demographic.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics released the quarter-hour viewership numbers for the December 9 episodes, which shows how strongly Sting and Shaquille O’Neal being announced for the show helped grow ratings. Peak viewership overall for AEW was 1,069,000 viewers for Sting’s debut promo with Shaquille O’Neal’s appearance doing a little less than that but also scoring over a million viewers.
NXT’s best performance was once again and its first segment which featured a debate between Pete Dunne, Kyle O’Reilly, and Damian Priest over who should challenge Finn Balor for the NXT title next.. Q1 garnered 782,000 viewers for NXT. You can see the full graph in the media below.
