Punishment Martinez Makes His NXT Live Event Debut
The big man has arrived.
Coming out of the Ring Of Honor television tapings on September 30th in Las Vegas, there was a plethora of news coming out of the tapings including Punishment Martinez dropping the ROH World Television Championship to Jeff Cobb, and following the tapings it was reported by PWInsider and confirmed by a number of other outlets that Martinez’s contract with Ring Of Honor ended on that night and he was WWE bound.
Those reports stood true as Martinez was announced with names such as Matt Riddle, Mia Yim and Humberto Carrillo as the newest class of Performance Center recruits. The names listed above including Chelsea Green have already made their NXT debuts on either television or at a live event and Martinez was the next to do so. Martinez made his first in-ring appearance for the NXT brand when he competed at a house show in Fort Pierce, Florida and went one-on-one with Nick Miller of ‘The Mighty’.
Martinez was defeated in his debut by Nick Miller. Shane Thorne who was on the outside distracted Martinez which allowed for Miller to capitalize and pick up the victory.
This live event along with every NXT and WWE Live Event on the weekend will be covered in our weekly live event report.
