Psycho Boy Fodder Praises John Skyler As One Of The Best He’s Ever Wrestled

Psycho Boy Fodder has been wrestling for less than two years, but he’s already shared the ring with the likes of Josh Woods, Westin Blake, Ace Austin, Silas Young, Nick Comoroto, and more.

In his first match on record (via Cagematch), Fodder took on John Skyler as part of the Free The Narrative event. While it wasn’t Fodder’s first actual match — he had worked a few matches before Free The Narrative — it was a high profile spot during the pandemic for someone just starting out in wrestling.

Speaking to Jeremy Lambert and Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight, Fodder discussed working Free The Narrative and taking on Skyler.

“I met EC3 before I started wrestling, I met him through supplements, Black Magic and all the different brands that I run. He brought me down when he got released from WWE, when they shot that first cinematic deal that ended up on IMPACT, I was the guy fighting him in that. I had been training for maybe eight months and then after that, I had a few Indie matches that were okay, I was still kind of getting my footing about myself and getting comfortable in the ring. John Skyler was the first true pro that I wrestled. When I wrestled him, I kind of had that light bulb moment that goes off when you’re working a guy who is really good and he’s walking you through everything. As he’s walking you through it, you’re going like, ‘Oh, this is what I’m supposed to be doing. I don’t have to go super fast. I can just take my time in here and talk to him and he can talk to me.’ Once I had that moment with him…Skyler is very good. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever been in the ring with. That time, working him, he made me look like a million bucks and taught me so much in that small 10 minutes. A lot of kids that go to the training school, I tell them, you get much more in 10 minutes working a real pro than you get in six months in training. There are things that you learn with pacing and different things in the ring, working the crowd, that you can’t get in training, doing drills and things like that,” he said.

Skyler has been wrestling for over a decade and is currently signed to IMPACT Wrestling.

Elsewhere during the interview, Fodder discussed his time working AEW Dark tapings and getting advice from Jerry Lynn. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

Fodder is set to team with EC3 to take on QT Marshall & Billy Gunn at Championship District Wrestling on December 18. Learn more by clicking here.
