Post-Battleground SmackDown Viewership Holds Steady, Down Only Slightly For July 25 Episode

Last night's episode of SmackDown, featuring the aftermath from Sunday's Battleground PPV and a surprise return from Chris Jericho, drew 2.535 million viewers, according to ShowBuzz Daily. This is down only a touch from last week's "Go-Home" episode, which drew 2.548 million.

The episode's main event was an impromptu triple threat for the US Title between Champ Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and the aforementioned Jericho, who was making his first appearance on WWE TV since the first week of May. The episode also featured John Cena confronting WWE Champion Jinder Mahal as well as the set-up for a #1 Contender's match next week between Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura.

SmackDown came in Third in total viewership on cable last night, behind Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and Tucker Carlson on FOX News, and the episode took #2 in the 18-49 demographic, behind only Sharks & The City.

This week's episode of RAW drew 3.067 million viewers, about 17.5% more than the viewership for SmackDown.
