PJ Black Says “Never Bang The Divas” Was Advice From His Dad

“Never bang the divas.” Well then.

That’s the advice the former Justin Gabriel, now PJ Black says his father gave him about the wrestling business. His father was a wrestler under the moniker The Pink Panther.

Black was asked 10 questions as a part of a column series with Ring of Honor, where he mentioned the advice, and his new ROH attitude.

What advice did your father give you about the wrestling business when you decided to follow in his footsteps and pursue it as a career?

Never bang the Divas.

You’ve admitted that you came into ROH with the wrong attitude and a willingness to take shortcuts. What would you say to any fans reading this who may be skeptical about your recent change of heart?

I’ve learned some valuable lessons in my time here. I think it’s an evolving process and it’s still something I’m working on daily. I’ve spent some time with monks, gurus, clairvoyants and spiritual leaders but still haven’t really found myself yet. My whole life, good and bad, has unfolded in front of people, so I try to make better choices now. The universe is my guide now.

It would appear Gabriel didn’t listen. He went on to date WWE ring announcer JoJo Offerman, as chronicled on Total Divas. He once stated that the producers actually made him break up with her on television as a part of the show.
