PCO Believes Marty Scurll Will Bring Fresh Ideas To ROH
Marty Scurll made a power move at the beginning of 2020, not only re-signing with ROH but taking over duties as the head booker. Scurll’s contract with ROH expired in November, but he remained with the company through the end of the year before signing the new deal in January.
Scurll’s running mate in Villain Enterprises and current ROH World Champion PCO recently spoke to This is Wrestling on TSN 1200 about Scurll’s new role.
“That’s going to be interesting to see how he can handle his own wrestling career, character, and thinking for so many other storylines in the meantime … I think if someone can do it that’s the guy who can do it. He’s the one who brought me into Ring of Honor. So he’s got all my… I’m 100% behind him on that matter and I think it’s a great *chuckles* I want to say addition to Ring of Honor as a talent because everybody thought he was gone. (But) he’s re-signing. It’s showing that ok Ring of Honor are serious and I think it makes a big statement. As far as creative and things like that. I’ve got tons of respect for Hunter (Delirious) who is going to become an executive producer so that’s cool too. They are going to have to work together … But him and Marty … I think Marty is going to bring some fresh ideas and I think that mix is going to be good,” he said.
Scurll’s influence in ROH has already been felt as he has helped the working relationships with NWA and NJPW, bringing talent from both shows to ROH events.
As for PCO, he won the ROH World Title at Final Battle 2019 by defeating RUSH.
When asked how he found out about his title win, PCO said, “They brought me to a corner. The president, the vice-president, the Head Booker. The three of them gave me the news. I was really really emotive. I saw my life flashing before my eyes. All the tragedy and the setbacks… it went all of a sudden like “boom boom boom” and this and then this and then this … it all came chronologically. That’s a cool feeling. I’ve never lived anything like that before.”
Scurll and PCO are set to team up on Sunday when they take on the duo of Nick Aldis and RUSH at ROH Free Enterprise.
Fightful will have full results from ROH Free Enterprise following the conclusion of the event.
