Paul Wight shares his thoughts ahead of his return to the ring.

Paul Wight, formerly known as The Big Show, has not wrestled since the AEW Dark: Elevation taping on March 30, 2022. He will compete for the first time in over a year on the November 15, 2023, episode of AEW Dynamite. There, he will team up with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and Kota Ibushi to face The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, and Powerhouse Hobbs) in the Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, Wight previewed his return to the ring.

“Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight. Yeah, don’t ask me what that involves. I just know it sounds like there’ll be a lot of carnage and a lot of bodies flying everywhere, so just another day at the office,” Wight said.

Wight was then asked whether he was excited to wrestle again. Wight stated that he was excited, but he was also nervous, and that’s part of the draw of competing.

“I am excited. To be honest with you, I’m nervous. I think that’s part of the draw or the magic of doing what we do is that anticipation, that adrenaline rush of performing in front of a crowd and wanting to put on a good show, an exciting show, and that’s a hard fix to get anywhere else. You have to adjust your expectations on what you’re doing as things mature. Because when you’re younger, it’s kind of about you. They’re building you. Well, I’m built. So now it’s my chance to give back to other talent and help younger talent establish themselves and hopefully become household names at some point,” he said.

Wight previously said he has a year and a half or two at the most before he hangs it up. Click here to see what he had to say.
