Paul Heyman Wants Kevin Owens To Know That He Respects Him, Owens Says He Sees Through Paul’s Act

Kevin Owens isn’t interested in Paul Heyman’s abilities as a spin doctor and as for Roman Reigns, Kevin feels that he has a pocket full of kryptonite should he need to look out for a Superman Punch.

It appears that Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens are on a collision course for an eventual Universal championship match and Paul Heyman says he is excited, but he should be careful what he wishes for, according to Kevin Owens.

Following the events on the November 27 episode of SmackDown where Kevin Owens confronted Roman Reigns and told him that Smackdown is not his personal playground to try to settle his family disputes, Paul Heyman confronted Kevin Owens on WWE Talking Smack in effort to provide Kevin Owens with a warning about messing with Roman Reigns, even if Paul personally has tremendous respect for Kevin, or so he says.

“I have a lot of respect for you,” Heyman began. “I want you to understand that, and sometimes Roman Reigns doesn’t have a lot of respect until people prove it to him. But I want you to know I understand how dangerous you are. I want you to know I understand a lot better than most people around here. I was a fan of yours before you came to. When everybody else used to like to knock you for how you handled your business. For your ideas, because they were too radical, too progressive, and here’s a politically incorrect word, too violent. I’ve always liked that about you. I like the fact that you’re untrustworthy. I admire that trait. I like the fact that people, behind your back, say you’re a scumbag. I like the fact that you can’t be trusted with any tag team partner. I like the fact that you are at the crossroads of your career. Because you are and you know it, and it’s your time to pivot.”

Heyman continued, “Now, you can go this way, which a lot of people, far too many, like to go. You can coast along, You can cruise at the semi-main event level. Or you can do something like watching The Undertaker’s retirement on Sunday and be motivated and inspired by it, and you can say, ‘I want that to be me. I want my reputation to live 100 years from now. I want to be a multi-time WrestleMania main eventer. I want to be a legend above all legends, an icon above all icons,’ and the way to do that, and this is where it’s interesting for me, is at Roman Reigns’ expense. A champion is only as great as the challengers that he puts down. Nobody else around here may realize that you are the number one contender, really fast, but I do. Because I know how twisted that brain is and you’re looking at an opportunity here to get to Roman Reigns and solidify your legacy. The title? Great. But if you knock Roman Reigns off his perch. You’ve established your legacy. That’s the trajectory that you’re looking at. This is going to be a fight. I look forward to it.”

Owens would respond by saying that he does respect Paul Heyman but despite what people may think, this will not end positively for Roman Reigns.

“You seem to relish in the fact that I’m sitting here in front of you tonight. After what I did on SmackDown last night, you seemed to relish the fact that I’m sitting here in front of you today, almost like you think this is somehow going to be good for Roman Reigns. Because, Paul, as much as I respect you, as much as I admire you, as much as I have looked up to you for many years. I know you really only work for one person, and it’s not Roman Reigns, it’s you.

“If you think me getting involved in this, whatever you want to call it, this thing you’ve got with Roman Reigns, is going to be somehow a positive for him, because you just said it, right? ‘A champion is only as good as the contenders he puts down.’ Let me just tell you this, because everything else you said is absolutely true. Just know this, it’s not going to be good for Roman or you, because once Roman Reigns finds his balls again and stops having his cousin try to do his dirty work, I’ll be there.”

Owens continued, “Do you know what I am, Paul? I’m not a good guy, I’m not a bad guy. I’m the guy that’s going to beat Roman Reigns and take the Universal Championship from him.”

At this time, no scheduled match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens is in place. WWE’s next pay-per-view is on Sunday, December 20, 2020, and it will be TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.

Kevin Owens sent a message to Roman Reigns on this most recent episode of SmackDown by waylaying his cousin, Jey Uso, with a chair. WWE provided an injury update on Uso, which you can view at this link.
