Cease & Desist Order Against PAPW Labeling Them As ‘Adult Entertainment’ Dropped
Paradise Alley Pro Wrestling was labeled as an adult entertainment company.
The wrestling company, which is owned by by former WWE and WCW performer Paul Roma & former WWE performer Mario Mancini, was hit with a cease and desist by the Town of East Haven. The town has categorized PAPW as an adult entertainment company.
PAPW has been in business for six years running out of Connecticut.
PAPW NEEDS YOIR HELP!
PAPW has been given a Cease and Desist order by the Town of East Haven, and we have been labeled as “adult entertainment” (pornography). Please help us in this fight. We love all of our fans and want to continue creating shows that create memories for you… pic.twitter.com/vV24O0vk20— PAPW (@OfficialPAPW) August 31, 2020
Richard Holliday and Brian Pillman Jr took to social media to rally fans to help PAPW.
The wrestling school I trained at in East Haven, CT (@OfficialPAPW) received a Cease & Desist from the town, stating that what we do is categorized as Adult Entertainment (pornography).
They’ve been operating for 6 years & have done numerous charity events.
2020, man.

We cannot allow this to happen! AEW and WWE are featured on national television and they are not classified as “pornography”, neither should a school/indy… Whoever issued this cease and desist is wildly uninformed and should be ashamed for disrespecting our sport!!! https://t.co/mJZ1GJF8fP

A petition was started as well.
Fortunately, PWInsider reports the cries worked as Joseph Maturo Jr., the Mayor of East Haven, stepped in and the cease and desist was dropped.
