Otis Talks Saving Mandy Rose From Royal Rumble Elimination, Says He Was Under The Ring For Five Entrances

Otis recalls saving Mandy Rose from elimination in a Women’s Royal Rumble match.

During the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble match, Mandy Rose was tossed over the top rope by Alexa Bliss, leading many fans to believe that she had been eliminated from the match. Instead, the camera cut to Rose at ringside, who had landed on Otis instead of hitting the floor.

While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Otis talked about the moment and recalled a conversation that he had with the ring guy.

“That was quite interesting. I had never been under the ring before. I remember going like, ‘it sounds like it’s going to break.’ Our ring guy Nick goes, ‘imagine when I’m down here and you’re up there buddy. Then it’s going to really break.’”

“Probably about five entrances.” Otis said when we asked how long he was under the ring for. “It’s funny because they just know it’s you in a black cape. You can’t hide me.”

Fightful then asked Otis if there is a monitor under the ring to help out with timing.

“Yeah, a monitor that tells you when to roll out. I’m just sitting there, and I’m getting sweating, just thinking, ‘please don’t slip.’ Gotta have a pee bottle. You never know. That same night, when she fell, ‘Okay, we got em,’ you start seeing the people. From the hard camera, they start realizing it and they start realizing it. I was pumped up.”
