Many fans seemingly agree about who they want to see Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

On the February 2 episode of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes was set to announce his decision about who he will face at WrestleMania 40. First, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns cut a promo about his title reign. Rhodes responded by saying that he wanted Reigns’ title, and he was coming for it, but not at WrestleMania.

Instead, he revealed that he talked to outside counsel, and he spoke with someone Reigns knew very well. That turned out to be The Rock, who came to the ring and embraced Rhodes. Rhodes then stepped aside, seemingly setting the stage for a match between Reigns and The Rock at WrestleMania 40.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp took to Twitter/X to ask the question, “Which do you prefer at WrestleMania?” The poll listed two options; users could vote for either Roman Reigns versus The Rock or Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns.

As of this writing, the poll has over 28,850 votes, and 80.3% of them are for Cody as Reigns’ opponent. Just 19.7% of users voted for The Rock as Reigns’ opponent.

Rhodes infamously lost to Reigns at WrestleMania 39, and he has been on a winding quest to finish the story ever since. He pointed at Reigns after he won the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble and said he wanted to finish the story by facing Reigns at the post-show press conference.
