Nyla Rose “Suspended Without Pay For The Rest Of 2018” By AEW
Nyla Rose unleashed “The Beast” on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, powerbombing referee Rick Knox through a table. If that wasn’t enough, Rose also powerbombed Shanna on top of Knox.
As a result of her actions, All Elite Wrestling management announced on social media Rose has “been suspended without pay for the rest of 2018.” The tweet has since been deleted, but nothing dies on the internet.
AEW did not exist until the first of 2019. Technically, AEW held true to the punishment. Shortly after deleting the tweet, AEW corrected its mistake.
BREAKING NEWS
As a result of her actions last night on #AEWDynamite, @NylaRoseBeast has been suspended without pay for the rest of 2019 by #AEW management pic.twitter.com/N0cXjiIBsQ— All Elite Wrestling (@AEWrestling) December 5, 2019
The promotion only has two more events scheduled for 2019.
This marks the second time AEW has punished wrestlers in storyline for their actions. Jimmy Havoc was “fined” $10,000 for using a staple gun in the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale and will be “fined” $10,000 for each subsequent use.
Nyla’s powerbomb on Knox was also noteworthy as following the spot, the camera cut to a reaction shot of AEW star Britt Baker, who was identified as “Adam Cole’s girlfriend.” The shot poked fun at NXT, when Baker was shown at NXT TakeOver: WarGames III with a look of concern on her face after watching her boyfriend crash through two tables from the top of a cage.
