NXT North American Championship Changes Hands On 10/12 Edition Of NXT 2.0

The NXT North American Championship has changed hands!

On the October 12 edition of NXT 2.0, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Santos Escobar to retain the NXT North American Championship. The two men have been feuding for the past couple of months and did battle one last time before Scott and Hit Row make the move to SmackDown on October 22.

During the match, Legado Del Fantasma tried to get involved, but they were fought off by Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes. They came to Isaiah’s defence because his fellow Hit Row members B-FAB and Top Dolla had been kidnapped by Legado earlier in the day. Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis, however, didn’t have as good of an excuse as he was nowhere to be found.

After the bell rang and it seemed as though the title would be heading to SmackDown, Hayes attacked Scott and redeemed the championship opportunity he earned by winning the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament. It only took a couple minutes for Carmelo to pin a tired Isaiah and become the new NXT North American Champion.

Isaiah “Swerve” Scott won the belt from Bronson Reed on June 29. Last week, he and Hit Row were drafted to SmackDown in the 2021 WWE Draft. They are set to begin appearing on the blue brand once the new rosters take effect on October 22, 2021.
