NXT News: Halftime Heat Reportedly To Air Live From Performance Center, NXT Rumble Postponed

An update on NXT Halftime Heat and an upcoming live event.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that the current plan is for WWE to hold Halftime Heat live at the Performance Center on Sunday. Johnson reports that WWE will bring in local fans or wrestlers in order to fill the building for the bout. NXT is set to hold their next set of television tapings on Wednesday and Johnson concedes that it’s possible they decide to tape the match in front of the Full Sail crowd. But “internally the company wants to air the match live so there are zero spoilers and its original live content for the Network.”

Halftime Heat is a one-match special pitting Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole against Aleister Black, Ricochet and Velveteen Dream. The show is scheduled to air during halftime of Sunday’s Super Bowl.

In other NXT news, the brand scheduled a special NXT Royal Rumble for Thursday’s live event in Sebring. However, the event has been postponed. No reason was given.

The event has been rescheduled for Feb. 21.
