NXT 9/1 Draws Second-Best Viewership Number Of 2020
NXT’s viewership continues to stay strong with no AEW competition.
According to Showbuzz Daily, the September 1 episode of NXT averaged 849,000 viewers, up from last week’s 824,000 viewers and it is the second-best viewership number of 2020. The only other episode of NXT that drew more viewers was the August 19 episode that drew 853,000 viewers. This is the third straight week NXT aired with no AEW competition, averaging 842,000 viewers per episode.
By comparison, in the last three weeks that NXT aired going up against AEW competition, NXT averaged 693,000 viewers per episode and in the last six weeks, NXT averaged roughly 680,000 viewers per episode.
In the 18-49 demo, NXT drew a 0.26 rating, which is 10th best on cable for the day. That number is higher than the 0.24 rating that the August 26 episode drew, which finished 24th on cable in that demo. In the 18-34 demo, NXT drew a 0.14 rating this week and in the 50+ demo, the show drew a 0.40 rating.
The show was headlined by a 60-minute Iron Man four-way match between Finn Balor, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship. Next week’s episode of NXT, which will air on Tuesday, September 8, will feature Balor vs. Cole for the NXT Championship.
