NWA Issues Statement Regarding Hard Times 2 Attendance
Low attendance was beyond NWA’s control.
Fans who watched NWA Hard Times 2 from their homes may have noticed a lot of empty seats at GPB Studios in Atlanta. The middle section was largely full of masked fans but the sections to the right and left were completely empty.
NWA Hard Times 2 was listed as “sold out” on Event Brite, confusing many as to why there were so many empty seats once the show began.
According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, NWA was informed on November 30 that since GPB Studios is government-funded they were being held to a more restrictive standard and would not allow more than 90 fans to attend. A number of fans were issued refunds as a result.
NWA President Billy Corgan issued the following statement to PWInsider:
‘To say the ongoing pandemic has been a challenge in running live events is an understatement, as it has for anyone who has been adversely affected by what remains this ongoing health and safety crisis. And though this latest setback will not deter us from going ‘on with the show’, we appreciate your understanding today so as to not have to turn anyone away at the door; as this is certainly a circumstance beyond our control.’
Along with the airing of Hard Times 2, NWA taped it’s newest TV show on Friday and will hold NWA Powerrr tapings on Sunday and Monday.
