No Way Jose Says He Pitched Near Two-Month Angle With Elias That Was Shot Down

No Way Jose at one point in his career would have preferred to walk with Elias than be the leader of a conga line.

No way Jose was released by WWE on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020. Just two days prior, he was Bobby Lashley’s victim on Monday Night Raw. Aside from some chicanery revolving around the WWE 24/7 championship, No Way Jose was largely utilized as enhancement talent on Monday Night Raw.

In a new interview with Inside The Ropes, Jose, (real name: Levis Valenzuela) reveals that he pitched early on in his time in WWE the possibility of him being a groupie to “The Drifter” Elias Samson, who would, of course, go on to simply be known as Elias.

“One of the first things I pitched was actually with Elias. My first year, I kept pitching to try to walk with Elias, like be a groupie and go out there and try to play the guitar one week, go out with the conga drums, have everybody in the conga line do something different in order to keep interrupting him [and] piss him off, maybe we can build something there,” said No Way Jose. “Then, he turns on me. It was very intricate, I had six to seven weeks planned of this damn thing and then, no, that didn’t happen.”
