NJPW New Japan Cup ’20 Second Round Match
Yoshi-Hashi vs. Bushi

The match begins with Bushi attacking Yoshi-Hashi as he entered the ring, Bushi drops Yoshi-Hashi before stomping away on him. Bushi takes his shirt off and he chokes Yoshi-Hashi with it, Yoshi-Hashi fights back and he drops Bushi with a shoulder tackle. Yoshi-Hashi corners Bushi before landing a plethora of forearm strikes, Yoshi-Hashi also starts attacking Bushi with a series of chops. Bushi fights back and he exchanges chops with Yoshi-Hashi, Yoshi-Hashi ends the exchange by nailing Bushi with a suplex for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi keeps Bushi down while holding him in a chin lock, Bushi eventually gets to the ropes to break the hold. Yoshi-Hashi gets Bushi up and he attacks him with more chops, Bushi fights back and he drops Yoshi-Hashi with a hurricarana. Bushi misses a charge in the corner and Yoshi-Hashi does the same before eating a missile drop kick, Yoshi-Hashi leaves the ring and Bushi nails him with a suicide dive. Bushi gets Yoshi-Hashi back in the ring and he nails him with an enziguri followed by a DDT for a near fall, Bushi goes for a spinning neck breaker and Yoshi-Hashi gets free to land a mule kick. Yoshi-Hashi then gets Bushi placed on the top rope before missing a drop kick, Bushi follows up by trapping Yoshi-Hashi in the ropes and landing a DDT. Bushi also nails Yoshi-Hashi with a spinning fisherman buster neck breaker for a near fall, Bushi goes to the middle rope and Yoshi-Hashi clotheslines him as he leaps off.

Bushi fights back and Yoshi-Hashi drops him with Western Lariat for a near fall, Yoshi-Hashi catches Bushi in the butterfly lock and Bushi gets to the ropes. Bushi escapes a suplex attempt from Yoshi-Hashi to roll him up for a near fall, Bushi then nails Yoshi-Hashi with a rebound kick. Yoshi-Hashi recovers  and he nails Bushi with Kharma for a three count.

Winner: Yoshi-Hashi

NJPW New Japan Cup ’20 Second Round Match
Sho vs. Sanada

The match begins with some chain wrestling between Sanada and Sho, Sanada gets Sho down during a test of strength and Sho briefly counters into an arm bar. Sanada sends a charging Sho out of the ring, Sho gets back in the ring and he drops Sanada on the ring apron before drop kicking him to the arena floor. Sho then nails Sanada with a penalty kick from the ring apron, Sho traps the arm of Sanada around the ring post before wrenching away on it. Sanada fights back and he drop kicks Sho in the back of the knee, Sanada traps the leg of Sho in the barricade while wrenching away on it. Sanada gets Sho back in the ring before working over the injured leg, Sho fights back and he nails Sanada with a spear after avoiding a clothesline. Sho then nails exchanges strikes in the corner with Sanada, Sanada and Sho then get into a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Sho ends the exchange by nailing Sanada with multiple clotheslines, Sho follows up by hitting Sanada with a suplex for a near fall. Sho traps the arm of Sanada while landing a series of kicks, Sho drags Sanada to the mat before briefly applying the arm bar again. Sanada fights back and he drop kicks a charging Sho in the knee again, Sho leaves the ring and Sanada takes him out with a dive. Sanada gets Sho back in the ring before missing a springboard move, Sho catches a leaping Sanada to land a series of German suplexes.

Sho then gets Sanada in another arm bar and Sanada gets free after nailing Sho with a power bomb once he transitioned to a triangle choke. Sanada and Sho have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Sho ends the exchange by nailing Sanada with a power bomb back stabber. Sho follows up by nailing Sanada with a lariat for a near fall, Sho looks for his finisher and Sanada counters with a back body drop. Sho looks for a German suplex and Sanada lands on his feet to apply the Cold Skull, Sho gets free and Sanada reapplies the Cold Skull. Sho catches Sanada in a roll up before applying a kimura to him, Sanada gets free and he gets Sho in the Cold Skull again. Sho gets free and he nails Sanada with a German suplex for a near fall, Sho looks for his finisher again and Sanada looks for the Cold Skull again. Sho gets free and Sanada reapplies the hold and a tap out follows.

Winner: Sanada

Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & Hiromu Takahashi) vs. Yota Tsuji & Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano)

The match begins with Yano chasing Takahashi around the ring before Takagi is tagged in, Tsuji also gets tagged in by Yano. Tsuji gets Takagi in a headlock and Takagi gets free before exchanging shoulder tackles with Tsuji, Takagi and Tsuji have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Tsuji ends the exchange by dropping Takagi with a shoulder tackle, Takagi fights back to drop Tsuji with a clothesline. The rest of LIJ hit the ring to attack the opposition and a brawl breaks out between the teams, Takagi keeps Tsuji in the ring while attacking him with elbow strikes. Naito tags in and he attacks the back of Tsuji with forearm strikes, Naito keeps Tsuji down while holding him in a single leg crab. Tsuji eventually gets to the ropes to break the move, Takagi tags in and he attacks the arm of Tsuji with an axe handle smash. Takagi also nails Tsuji with multiple knee strikes to the midsection followed by a suplex, Naito tags in and he attacks Tsuji with more strikes. Naito keeps Tsuji down before applying a camel clutch to him, Tsuji eventually gets to the ropes to break the move. Tsuji fights back and Naito clobbers him with more strikes and a basement drop kick, Tsuji recovers and he nails Naito with a drop kick of his own. Ishii and Takahashi are tagged in by their respective partners, Ishii drops a charging Takahashi with a shoulder tackle.

Ishii traps Takahashi in the corner while attacking him with a ton of chops, Takahashi fires back and he lands chops of his own. Takahashi drops Ishii before landing a basement drop kick, Takahashi and Ishii have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Takahashi ends the exchange by nailing Ishii with a suplex, Ishii recovers and he nails Takahashi with a back suplex. Tsuji tags in and he nails Takahashi with a few strikes followed by a shoulder tackle, Tsuji follows up by nailing Takahashi with a suplex for a near fall. Tsuji gets Takahashi in a modified cobra clutch and Naito breaks it up, Yano hits the ring to drop Naito and Takagi. Takahashi returns to drop Yano and Ishii before eating a spear from Tsuji, Tsuji looks for a Boston crab and Takahashi gets to the ropes. Tsuji misses a charge in the corner before getting triple teamed by LIJ, Takahashi then hits Tsuji with a super kick for a near fall. Takahashi follows up by getting Tsuji in a Boston crab and a tap out follows.

NJPW New Japan Cup ’20 Second Round Match
Kota Ibushi vs. Taichi

The match begins with Zack Sabre Jr distracting Ibushi so Taichi can gain control, Taichi knocks Ibushi out of the ring and Sabre Jr works him over. Hiroshi Tanahashi attacks Sabre Jr while Taichi throws Ibushi into the barricade, Taichi also attacks Tanahashi and he throws him into the barricade. Taichi drags Ibushi into the spectator area before throwing him into some bleachers and a barricade, Taichi finds some cable wires and he chokes Ibushi with them. Taichi gets back in the ring and he chokes Ibushi when he gets back in the ring, Taichi traps Ibushi in the corner while stomping away on him. Sabre Jr attacks Ibushi again and Tanahashi goes after him, Taichi attacks Tanahashi before getting Ibushi back in the ring. Taichi keeps Ibushi down while applying a nerve hold to him, Ibushi fights back and he cracks Taichi with a drop kick. Ibushi then drops a charging Taichi with a mid kick before landing a standing shooting star press for a near fall, Taichi fights back and he nails Ibushi with a head kick. Taichi rakes the eyes of Ibushi before getting into an extended striking exchange with him, Ibushi and Taichi both land enizguris to end the exchange. Taichi gets up first and he nails Ibushi with a back drop driver for a near fall, Taichi goes for the axe bomber and Ibushi drops him with a clothesline.

Ibushi sets up for a power bomb and Taichi escapes to attempt one of his own, Ibushi escapes and he nails Taichi with a head kick. Ibushi follows up by nailing Taichi with a sit out power bomb for a near fall, Sabre Jr interferes again and that allows Taichi to hit Ibushi with a low blow for a near fall. Ibushi misses a charge in the corner and Taichi nails him with another back drop driver, Ibushi recovers and he levels Taichi with a knee strike. Taichi avoids a second knee strike to hit Ibushi with a head kick, Ibushi blocks a super kick from Taichi to land a package tombstone pile driver for a near fall. Ibushi sets up for a knee strike and Taichi sends him into the referee, Sabre Jr attacks Tanahashi before attacking Ibushi. Tanahashi returns and he attacks Sabre Jr with a sling blade, Taichi grabs the iron claw and he hits Ibushi with it. Taichi follows up by nailing Ibushi with Black Mephisto for a three count.

Winner: Taichi

NJPW New Japan Cup ’20 Second Round Match
Hirooki Goto vs. Evil

The match begins with Goto and Evil battling on the arena floor, Evil and Goto briefly get into a striking exchange. Evil follows Goto around the ringside area while attacking him with chops, Goto recovers and he sends Evil into the barricade. Goto waits for Evil to get in the ring before attacking him with a plethora of strikes, Goto drops Evil before kicking him in the back for a near fall. Goto keeps Evil down while applying a chin lock to him, Goto starts focusing his attack on the arm of Evil. Evil recovers and he drops a charging Goto with a shoulder block, Evil follows up on that by using a clothesline to knock Goto out of the ring. Evil leaves the ring and he throws Goto into the barricade a few times, Evil wraps a chair around the head of Goto before sending him into the ring post. Evil waits for Goto to get back in the ring before applying a chin lock to him, Evil releases the hold before nailing Goto with a neck breaker for a near fall. Goto starts fighting back and Evil drops him with a clothesline, Goto fights back again and he drops Evil with a clothesline. Goto then corners Evil before dropping him with another clothesline, Goto then hits Evil with a back drop driver for a near fall. Evil fights back and he drops Goto with a hair pull, Evil follows up by trapping Goto in the ropes before landing a stomp.

Evil keeps Goto downed in the corner before landing a bronco buster for a near fall, Evil and Goto have a back and forth until Goto lands a ushigoroshi. Evil and Goto have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Goto ends the exchange by nailing Evil with an inverted GTR for a near fall. Evil gets to a knee afterwards and Goto attacks him with kicks, Evil blocks a kick before exchanging clotheslines with Goto. Goto eventually drops Evil with a lariat for a near fall, Goto goes for a GTR and Evil escapes to drop him with a forearm strike. Evil then hits Goto with a fisherman buster suplex for a near fall, Evil follows up by nailing Goto with Darkness Falls for another near fall. Evil goes for Everything Is Evil and Goto escapes to land a headbutt, Goto then hits Evil with a mid kick and ushigoroshi for a near fall. Goto looks for a GTR and Evil shoves him into the referee before landing a clothesline, Evil keeps Goto down while stomping his balls for a near fall. Evil then hits Goto with Everything Is Evil for a three count.

Winner: Evil
