NJPW KOPW Trophy Changes Hands At NJPW Hyper Battle
Toru Yano has been dethroned.
At NJPW Hyper Battle, Taichi captured the NJPW King of Pro Wrestling provisional trophy by defeating Yano in a no rope, ring out match. The goal of the match was to force your opponent out of the ring.
The finish saw the two men in a grappling exchange that ended with Taichi throwing Yano to the floor.
After the bout, Taichi called out Shingo Takagi and dared him to come after the KOPW Trophy.
The KOPW Trophy is decided in a stipulation match where each wrestler picks their stipulation and the fans vote on which stipulation will be used. The man who holds the King of Pro Wrestling Provisional Trophy at the end of the year will be crowned the King of Pro Wrestling. Yano is the reigning 2021 KOPW.
