Michael Elgin & Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs. Katsuya Kitamura & Syota Umino

The match begins with Liger and Umino taking turns backing each other into the ropes, Umino backs Liger into the corner before landing a few running back elbow strikes. Liger recovers and drops a charging Umino with a palm strike, Elgin tags in and he drops Umino with a delayed verticle suplex into a fall away slam. Liger tags back in and he nails Umino with some strikes in the corner, Liger then locks Umino in the surfboard hold. Liger releases the hold to attack Umino with a few chops, Umino recovers and then drops Liger with a drop kick.

Elgin and Kitamura get the tags from their respective partners, Elgin and Kitamura have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Kitamura eventually drops Elgin with a shoulder block, Kitamura then catches a dazed Elgin with a spear. Kitamura would then catch Elgin with a suplex for a near fall, Elgin recovers and catches a charging Kitamura with a uranage. Liger hits the ring to double team Kitamura with Elgin, Elgin catches Kitamura with a falcon arrow for a near fall. Elgin goes for the Elgin Bomb and Kitamura blocks by landing a back body drop, Elgin then levels a charging Kitamura with a clothesline followed by the Elgin Bomb for a three count.

Winners: Michael Elgin & Jushin “Thunder” Liger

Hirai Kawato, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima vs. Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Taichi & El Desparado)

The match begins with an all out brawl breaking out between everybody in the match, Taichi and Tenzan battle each other inside of the ring as the brawl comes to a halt. Taichi starts attacking Tenzan with some Mongolian chops and machine gun chops, Taichi then cracks a cornered Tenzan with a running forearm strike. Tenzan recovers and he attacks Taichi with Mogolian chops and a back body drop, Kojima and Suzuki get the tags from their respective partners. Kojima assaults Suzuki with machine gun chops in the corner, Kojima would then hit Suzuki with a running forearm strike in the corner. Suzuki recovers and kicks a cornered Kojima right in the face, Suzuki follows that up by briefly locking Kojima in the sleeper hold.

Suzuki goes for the Gotch style pile driver and Kojima uses a back body drop to escape, Desparado gets the tags and he stomps away on a downed Kojima. Kojima recovers and he drops Desparado with a Koji Cutter, Kawato tags in and he drops Desparado with a running back elbow strike. Suzuki interferes and that allows another all out brawl to take place between the teams, Kawato catches Desparado with a sunset flip for a near fall. Kawato then hits Desparado with a springboard drop kick for a near fall, Kawato continues the attack by locking Desparado in the Boston crab. Taichi breaks up the submission attempt and Kawato attacks him with forearm strikes, Suzuki hits the ring and he attacks Kawato with a few strikes, Desparado nails Kawato with the Angel’s Wings for the three count.

Winners: Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Taichi & El Desparado)

David Finlay & Juice Robinson vs. Los Ingobernables (Sanada & Bushi)

The match begins with Robinson working over Sanada with a headlock, Bushi distracts Robinson and then Robinson sends a charging Sanada right into Bushi. Robinson quickly drops a dazed Sanada with a drop kick, Finlay hits the ring to attack Sanada with some double team moves alongside Robinson. Finlay follows that up by nailing Sanada with a series of running back elbow strikes in the corner, Bushi trips up Finlay and that allows Sanada to catch him with a drop kick. Bushi tags in and he catches Finlay with a missile drop kick, Bushi takes off his shirt and he chokes Finlay with it. Sanada and Bushi then attack Finlay with some double team moves, Robinson hits the ring to take out both opponents with a cross body block.

Robinson then catches a downed Bushi with a cannonball in the corner, Finlay then hits Sanada with a  uranage back breaker for a near fall. Sanada catches a leaping Finlay in the Cold Skull, Finlay uses a small package to break the Cold Skull and get a near fall. Sanada reapplies the Cold Skull and Finlay finally taps out.

Winners: Los Ingobernables (Sanada & Bushi)

Bullet Club (Kenny Omega & Chase Owens) vs. Los Ingobernables (Hiromu Takahashi & Evil)

The match begins with Takahashi jumping Omega from behind as Evil knocks Owens off the ring apron, Omega fights back and takes out both members of the opposing team. Omeag then hits Takahashi with a Fame Asser after a distraction from Owens, Owens tags in and he double teams Takahashi with Omega. Omega tags back in and he catches Takahashi with a springboard axe handle drop, Takahashi tries fighting back and Omega drops him with a series of strikes. Takahashi eventually drops Omega with a dragon screw leg whip, Owens and Evil get the tag from their respective partners.

Evil quickly fights off the double team work from Bullet Club, Owens rocks Evil with a trio of kicks followed by a suplex for a near fall. Owens misses a charge in the corner and he eats a series of clotheslines from both opponents, Takahashi catches Omega with a dive on the arena floor. Evil nails Owens with an STO for the three count.

Winners: Los Ingobernables (Hiromu Takahashi & Evil)

Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano) vs. Bullet Club (Tama Tonga & Yujiro Takahashi)

The match begins with Takahashi and Tonga attacking Chaos when the bell sounds, Tonga knocks Okada out of the ring so Bullet Club can double team Yano. Takahashi follows Okada to the arena floor so he can attack him with his pimp cane, Tonga grabs the microphone wire and he chokes Yano with it. Takahashi then works over Yano by choking him in the ring, Yano eventually fights back by dropping Tonga with a hair pull. Okada gets the tag and he immediately cleans house on the opposing team, Okada also catches Tonga with a DDT.

Okada waits for Tonga to get up before dropping him with a leaping European uppercut, Okada goes to the top rope and Takahashi grabs his feet. Tonga then grabs a distracted Okada and nail him with a flapjack for a near fall, Tonga eventually nails Okada with a Tongan Twist after a series of reversals. Takahashi tags in and he nails Okada with a running boot to the face, Okada recovers and drops Takahashi with a drop kick. Yano tags in and he immediately removes the turnbuckle pad, Takahashi gets mad and he bites the finger of Yano.

Takahashi then cracks Yano with a fisherman buster suplex for a near fall, Tonga and Okada start brawling on the arena floor. Yano shoves the referee into Takahashi before catching him with a low blow and a roll up for the three count.

Winners: Chaos (Kazuchika Okada & Toru Yano)

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Yoshi-Hashi vs. Bad Luck Fale

The match begins with Yoshi-Hashi jumping Fale before the bell sounds, Fale misses a charge into the corner and Yoshi-Hashi rolls him up for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi then attacks Fale with a series of forearm strikes and shoulder tackles, Fale recovers and drops Yoshi-Hashi with a shoulder block. Fale drags Yoshi-Hashi out of the ring and then throws him through the barricade, Fale brings Yoshi-Hashi into the crowd and he throws him into a pile of chairs. Fale gets back into the ring and he stands on Yoshi-Hashi when he gets back in the ring, Fale then drops Yoshi-Hashi and proceeds to just sit on him for a near fall.

Fale quickly drops Yoshi-Hashi again before just stomping away on his injured back, Yoshi-Hashi fights back by attacking Fale with some chops. Fale recovers quickly and just drops Yoshi-Hashi for a near fall, Yoshi-Hashi catches Fale with a mule kick followed by a rolling neck breaker that takes him down. Yoshi-Hashi traps Fale in the corner to nail him with a running clothesline, Fale misses an elbow drop and Yoshi-Hashi cracks him with a drop kick. Yoshi-Hashi drops Fale again and he gets a near fall on him, Yoshi-Hashi then puts Fale in the butterfly lock. Fale breaks free and he levels Yoshi-Hashi with a clothesline, Yoshi-Hashi gets back up and he drops Fale with a jumping clothesline.

Yoshi-Hashi reapplies the butterfly lock to a dazed Fale, Fale breaks free again and he nails Yoshi-Hashi with an avalanche followed by a splash for a near fall. Fale goes for the Bad Luck Fall and Yoshi-Hashi escapes to apply a rear naked choke, Yoshi-Hashi releases the choke to nail Fale with a running double knee strike for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi applies the butterfly lock to Fale yet again, Fale stands up and Yoshi-Hashi applies a guillotine choke until he catches Fale in a small package for the three count.

Winner: Yoshi-Hashi

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Togi Makabe vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

The match begins with Makabe backing Sabre Jr into the ropes before landing a chop, Makabe and Sabre Jr quickly get into a striking exchange until Sabre Jr goes down. Sabre Jr rolls out of the ring and Makabe follows him out there before tossing him into the barricade, El Desparado interferes and Makabe tosses him into the barricade as well. Sabre Jr recovers and drops Makabe with a drop kick to the knee, Sabre Jr then smashes the injured leg of Makabe on the arena floor. Sabre Jr follows that up by smashing Makabe’s injured leg on the barricade, Sabre Jr throws Makabe back into the ring and he applies a modified STF.

Makabe tries fighting back and Sabre Jr pulls back on his injured leg, Sabre Jr then reapplies the STF to Makabe until Makabe gets to the ropes. Makabe tries fighting back again and Sabre Jr quickly attacks his injured knee, Makabe finally drops Sabre Jr with a clothesline. Makabe then nails a cornered Sabre Jr with another clothesline followed by a series of punches, Sabre Jr recovers and he nails the arm of Makabe with a pele kick and a divorce court DDT. Sabre Jr gets up and quickly applies the guillotine choke to Makabe, Makabe breaks free and he catches Sabre Jr with a northern lights suplex. Makabe goes for a clothesline and Sabre Jr counters by locking him in the octopus stretch, Sabre Jr and Makabe get into another striking exchange.

Makabe gets angry and he just clobbers Sabre Jr with a lariat, Makabe goes for and misses the King Kong Knee Drop. Sabre Jr reapplies the octopus stretch to Sabre Jr, Sabre Jr then transitions into an ankle lock on Makabe to force a submission.

Winner: Zack Sabre Jr.

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Yuji Nagata vs. Tomohiro Ishii

The match begins with Ishii attacking Nagata with a plethora of forearm strikes, Nagata recovers and drops a charging Ishii with a boot to the face. Ishii gets back up and he attacks Nagata with a few chops, Nagata fires back by attacking Ishii with some kicks. Nagata eventually drops Ishii with those kicks and he applies the chin lock, Ishii eventually escapes the hold and he knocks Nagata out of the ring. Nagata gets back in the ring and Ishii traps him in the corner while assaulting him with strikes, Nagata gets mad and he fires back at Ishii.

Ishii eventually drops Nagata and just kicks away at him, Nagata recovers and drops a charging Ishii with a knee lift. Nagata then destroys Ishii with a plethora of kicks to the back, Nagata traps Ishii in the corner before nailing him with a running boot to the face followed by an exploder suplex. Ishii quickly recovers and he drops Nagata with a suplex, Ishii also starts assaulting Nagata with some kicks of his own. Nagata tries fighting back and Ishii plants him with a power slam, Ishii then catches a cornered Nagata with a running clothesline. Ishii places Nagata on the top rope and he follows him up there, Ishii catches Nagata with a superplex for a near fall.

Nagata recovers and he manages to get Ishii in the Nagata Lock, Ishii breaks free and he has a striking exchange with Nagata. Nagata drops Ishii and he mounts him before landing a plethora of forearm strikes, Ishii then gets leveled with a kick from Nagata for a near fall. V picks up Ishii and he place shim on the top rope, Nagata then hits Ishii with a top rope exploder suplex for another near fall. Nagata then crushes ishii with some more exploder suplexes and a spin kick to the face, Nagata goes for a knee strike in the corner and Ishii counters with a power bomb for a near fall. Ishii levels Nagata with a lariat for a near fall, Nagata recovers and he catches Ishii with a brain buster for another near fall.

Nagata then catches Ishii with an enzaguri, Ishii quickly recovers to hit Nagata with a sliding lariat followed by a brain buster for a three count.

Winner: Tomohiro Ishii

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Hirooki Goto vs. Tetsuya Naito

The match begins with Naito jumping Goto as he entered the ring, Naito then stomps away on a downed Goto. Goto recovers and drops Naito with a shoulder tackle, Goto traps Naito in the corner before assaulting him with a plethora of strikes. Goto goes to the top rope and Naito knocks him off to the arena floor, Naito follows Goto out of the ring to throw him into the barricade a few times. Naito eventually traps Goto on the ring apron before nailing him with elbow strikes, Naito follows that up by nailing Goto with a neck breaker on the ring apron. Naito waits for Goto to get back in the ring so he can stomp away on him, Naito slows things down by holding Goto in a chin lock.

Goto starts fighting back and he eventually drops a charging Naito with a kick, Goto traps Naito in the corner before catching him with a spin kick. Naito recovers quickly by dropping Goto with a series of strikes, Naito traps Goto in the corner before catching him with a slingshot drop kick. Goto eats a reverse atomic drop before dropping Naito with a clothesline, Naito and Goto have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Goto eventually takes Naito down by crushing him with a lariat, Naito recovers and drops Goto with a DDT. Naito then traps Goto in the ropes before landing a modified neck breaker, Naito would then place Goto on the top rope before catching him with a super hurricarana for a near fall.

Naito goes for Destino and Goto counters with a modified back breaker, Goto follows that up by locking Naito in the sleeper hold. Goto releases the sleeper hold and he just attacks Naito with a bunch of strikes, Naito recovers and drops Goto with a release German suplex and flying forearm strike. Goto recovers quickly and he catches Naito with a modified back breaker again, Naito catches Goto with Destino from out of nowhere for a near fall. Naito hits Goto with a second Destino for the three count.

Winner: Tetsuya Naito

NJPW G1 Climax 27 Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kota Ibushi

The match begins with Tanahashi and Ibushi doing some chain wrestling, Ibushi lands the first big strike by dropping a charging Tanahashi with a kick. Tanahashi recovers and he drops Ibushi with a dragon screw leg whip, Tanahashi traps the leg of Ibushi in the ropes before wrenching away on it. Tanahashi drops Ibushi and he focuses his attack on the wrestlers injured leg, Tanahashi continues bending the injured leg of Ibushi in some awkward ways. Ibushi eventually fights back and he drops a charging Tanahashi with a drop kick, Ibushi then drops Tanahashi again with a series of strikes followed by a standing moonsault.

Ibushi follows that up by knocking Tanahashi out of the ring with a hurricarana, Ibushi then takes out Tanahashi with a middle rope moonsault to the arena floor. Tanahashi slows Ibushi down by nailing him with a dragon screw leg whip into the ropes, Ibushi falls to the arena floor and Tanahashi attacks him with a High Fly Flow. Tanahashi drags Ibushi to the ring apron and he nails him with multiple dragon screw leg whips into the ropes, Tanahashi then takes the opportunity to lock Ibushi in a Texas cloverleaf. Ibushi recovers and he nails Tanahashi with a release German suplex followed by a double stomp, the wrestlers get into a striking exchange in the middle of the ring.

Tanahashi drops Ibushi first by nailing him with a sling blade, Tanahashi goes to the top rope and Ibushi follows him up there. Ibushi then crushes Tanahashi with a pele kick while Tanahashi is on the top rope, Ibushi follows that up by nailing Tanahashi with a lawn dart into the corner. Ibushi would then hit Tanahashi with a middle rope release German suplex for a near fall, Tanahashi recovers and he catches Ibushi with a spinning neck breaker. Tanahashi then catches Ibushi with a straight jacket suplex for a near fall, Tanahashi follows that up with a sling blade for another near fall. Tanahashi goes to the top rope and he nails Ibushi with a High Fly Flow, Tanahashi goes for a secodn High Fly Flow and Ibushi gets his knees up.

Tanahashi and Ibushi have another striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Ibushi nails Tanahashi with a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Ibushi crushes Tanahashi with a knee strike to get the three count.

Winner: Kota Ibushi
