Nikki Bella Says She Feels Like A Proud Mom Watching The Women’s Evolution Grow In WWE
Nikki Bella is happy to see what is going on with the women’s division in WWE.
Twelve year veteran of World Wrestling Entertainment and former two-time WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella last competed for WWE in the main event of the company’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution where she took on Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship. Nikki Bella and her sister Brie brought a different audience to WWE programming through Total Divas and their Total Bellas show.
Although Nikki has been out of the ring, she’s been keeping up with the ever-growing women’s evolution in WWE with Women’s Tag Titles being brought back into the fray and women possibly headlining this year’s WrestleMania. Nikki Bella walked the red carpet at the Oscars and she spoke with ‘Reel Talker’ and during the conversation, Bella was asked for her thoughts about the current landscape of women’s wrestling in WWE and she said that she feels like a proud mom watching the growth of the division.
“You know what? It’s like being a proud mom. It’s like, you can raise your kids a certain way and then when they accomplish something, you show them your footsteps, you give them the path and then when they take that out, it’s like passing the torch. You just watch with such pride and that’s what I feel when I watch the women. It just makes me so proud that all of my hard work for twelve years there meant something and it made a change and it continues to make a change.” She explained.
Nikki Bella has also enjoyed watching her brother in-law — the current WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan is giving fans a dose of his real-life personality on WWE TV and Nikki explained that she enjoys Bryan’s current work because he is showing who he is as a person and she shared some of her favorite Daniel Bryan moments from his current heel run.
“I love it because like you said, there’s so much truth to it and I think when your character has that foundation of truth of who you are, there’s so much passion and you feel the passion so then you get invested and then you’re connected to it, and that’s the thing: everything that Bryan is saying is how he truly feels, and I love it because it also makes it very entertaining. When he called Vince out and said, ‘Your generation ruined it’. It was like, yeah, I watched Madman. You guys created plastic.'” Bella laughed. “You invest, you naturally invest. Him changing the title; like what a heel thing to do.”
On a recent edition of Total Bellas, Brie Bella announced that she was retiring from in-ring competition and to read more about that, click here.
