Nikki Bella Says Her Breakup With John Cena Isn’t A Publicity Stunt
Ahead of the Total Bellas season premiere this weekend, rumors and speculation circulated that Nikki Bella and John Cena's breakup is merely publicity for the new season.
Nikki Bella appeared on ET Canada, where she addressed the speculation. Some have went as far as to say the entire relationship — from beginning to end — was fabricated, and Bella opened up about it in the interview.
"I think sometimes people don't realize how you can affect them. It's kind of like when we try to talk to cyberbullies and tell them that you have no idea how you're affecting people. I'm a human being, a human being that literally went through a breakup. Everyone's been through a breakup and think of how we feel. So mine has just been blown up and people all of a sudden are saying that I'm faking it. So you're now saying that my heartache is fake, and that makes it even harder. It's just like, what can I do right? That's just really, really tough," said Bella.
Bella didn't hesitate to plug the upcoming premiere, saying that the show will put to rest any potential rumors that the breakup is a "work."
"We are in communication, and that makes it harder, but that makes me excited to see Total Bellas premiere this Sunday. You're finally going to see the journey, where it unfolds. Then the speculation is going to way, or people saying 'they're doing this for the show,'" said Bella.
Cena appeared on the Today Show earlier this week, and said that he was "heart broken," and was hoping to repair the relationship the two have had. He's also been on a press tour to help promote the new season of "Total Bellas," which helped fuel speculation of the faux split.
