Here is your fight size update for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage on Friday, December 22, 2023.

WWE SmackDown

– Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns spoke with General Manager Nick Aldis. Reigns told Aldis he should run his ideas by him. Aldis said the buck stopped with him, and he was the sharp end of the stick on SmackDown.

– AJ Styles faced Solo Sikoa. Roman Reigns attacked AJ Styles and forced the disqualification. Styles brawled with Reigns and Sikoa. Randy Orton joined the fight, as did Jimmy Uso. LA Knight came down and helped Orton clear the ring of The Bloodline. Orton, Styles, and Knight brawled as the show came to an end.

– Dragon Lee successfully defended NXT North American Championship against Butch.

– AJ Styles came to the ring and noted that Randy Orton and LA Knight both wanted a shot at Roman Reigns. He stated that he was first in line. LA Knight interrupted and said Styles could have Reigns after he got him first. Styles noted that Knight stepped over him to get his first match against Reigns. Randy Orton joined them and stated that nothing would stop him in his quest for revenge. Nick Aldis stopped them and announced a Triple Threat match between the three for SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution. 

– Kevin Owens beat Carmelo Hayes to advance to the finals of the WWE United States Championship Tournament.

The O.C. (AJ Styles Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Michin) reunited, but Styles walked away from them

– Bobby Lashley faced Santos Escobar in the WWE United States Championship Tournament. Masked men interfered and helped Escobar score the win. They unmasked and revealed themselves to be Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza.

– Bianca Belair, Michin, Zelina Vega, and Shotzi faced Damage CTRL in a Holiday Havoc Tag Team Match. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre interfered, and Michin pinned SKY for the win. 

Karrion Kross delivered a cryptic message and teased that he needed authors.

Nick Aldis told Butch to find a partner for a match against Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) at SmackDown: New Year’s Evil.

– WWE United States Champion Logan Paul targeted Kevin Owens and Santos Escobar in a promo.

– Santos Escobar commented on his alliance with Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza.

– Carmelo Hayes shared his thoughts after his loss.

– Michin looked forward to her upcoming title match.

AEW Rampage

– El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Black Taurus to retain the AAA Mega Championship.

– Orange Cassidy successfully defended the AEW International Championship against Rocky Romero.

– A video package highlighted how AEW and Jazwares teamed up with Toys for Tots.

– The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) defeated The Hardys (Matt and Jeff Hardy).

– Stokely Hathaway confronted Kris Statlander backstage and tried to stir up some controversy.

– Brian Cage hyped up his match against Keith Lee on AEW Collision.

– Ruby Soho was approached by Angelo Parker, who asked her out for a drink. Saraya interrupted and apologized to Soho. She said she supported Soho’s relationship with Parker but told Angelo she hated him once Ruby left.

– Roderick Strong continued to claim that MJF was The Devil.

– Skye Blue picked up a win in singles action when she faced Queen Aminata.

– Brian Cage wished everyone a merry Meatmas.
