Nia Jax Wants To Face Bull Nakano At Raw 25
Very unlikely that this will ever happen, but hey, anything's possible!
When Sky Sports asked Nia Jax about who she would like to face most at Raw 25, she came up with a name from WWE's past that not too many would expect.
"I would love to get in the ring with Bull Nakano,” she told them. “I would be so excited."
Nakano, who wrestled sporadically for the WWE in 1994 and 1995, is most remembered for her feud with Alundra Blayze which consisted of a number of hot matches that just weren't happening anywhere else at the time.
"Watching her back in the day, she [Nakano] is the definition of a badass woman,” she said. “If you look back at their wrestling matches they were revolutionary back then, they just didn’t get the spotlight that we do now. If it wasn’t for those women putting in the work and the time, and showing people what they can do then I don’t think we would have had the opportunities to show what we can do now."
Nakano is credited with bringing in a stiff Japanese style in her matches during her run with WWE that women wrestlers in the United States weren't doing back then, something that fans in the country had never seen before. Nia Jax is a fan of that style.
"That [style] is something that I love,” said Jax. “You have women in UFC who are kicking the crap out of each other. If you look at what they were doing back then, you wouldn’t want to be on the end of one of those backfists or the way they hit each other.
Nakano retired in 1997 after suffering a number of injuries and had her official retirement ceremony in 2012. Regardlessm she continues to make sporadic appearances, including losing to Manami Toyota in a one minute match during Toytota's own retirement show recently.
