Nia Jax On Embracing Her Booty And Advice She Got From The Rock

Nia Jax has learned to embrace her curves.

Speaking to TODAY, Jax discussed how she’s learned to love her booty and revealed some advice she got from her cousin, The Rock.

“(My butt) is something that I grew up hating because I could never fit in my pants. I felt like my legs and butt were so big that I didn’t want to wear shorts,” said Jax. “Growing up, realizing that I have so much power in my butt. It’s weird because I can squat over 300 pounds at 15 years old. People would cheer me on but I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, no, don’t cheer me on. I wanna like….’ But now it’s something that everybody celebrates. I celebrate it because it’s what makes me, me. I embrace the booty.”

Jax went on to say that she likes to send a positive message on social, which ties directly into the best advice she’s received in her life. After naming her mother as her role model, Jax revealed the advice her mother gave her for life. “The best advice I’ve ever gotten — I’ve gotten two great things — One, from my mom, is that ‘true beauty does not come from outside, it comes from within. No matter how good you look on the outside, if your insides aren’t good, it means nothing,'”

But that wasn’t the only important piece of advice that stuck with her.

“And then, from my cousin Dwayne (Johnson), ‘It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice.'”

On her relationship with The Rock, Jax said, “He is a huge goofball. Even though he makes fun of me a lot and he always cracks jokes, we have a great bond. He’s always there for me. We’re family and we love each other unconditionally.”

Jax returned from injury this past Monday on Raw, teaming with Ember Moon to defeat Alicia Fox and Mickie James.
