New Smackdown Women’s Champion Crowned At WrestleMania

Naomi won back the title she never lost.

In front of her hometown crowd in Orlando, Florida, Naomi recaptured the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship. She'd first won it earlier this year, but was forced to vacate the title after sustaining a knee injury that kept her out of action for weeks.

Naomi returned on last week's Smackdown, declaring her intent to enter the match. She'd go on to win, debuting a new submission to gain the victory.

The match ended up being in the infamous "death slot" between two bigger matches, just ahead of the main event. Originally it was scheduled for the WrestleMania Kickoff show.
