New Million Dollar Champion Crowned At NXT TakeOver 36
Cameron Grimes is going to the moon.
Cameron Grimes became the new Million Dollar Champion at NXT TakeOver 36, defeating LA Knight in the opening contest. The finish saw Ted DiBiase get involved on the outside, locking Knight in the Million Dollar Dream before tossing him back in the ring. Once in the ring, Grimes finished him off with the Cave In for the victory.
Before the match began, Grimes shed his butler gear and paid tribute to “The Million Dollar Man.”
This marks Grimes’ first run with the Million Dollar Championship.

Knight won the Million Dollar Championship at NXT TakeOver In Your House by defeating Grimes in a ladder match. He would then turn on DiBiase before defending the title against Grimes at NXT Great American Bash. As a result of Grimes’ loss on that night, he became Knight’s butler. Had Grimes lost to Knight at NXT TakeOver 36, DiBiase would have become Knight’s new butler.
Grimes is set to hold a Million Dollar Championship Celebration on the August 24 episode of NXT.
