EVIL vs Bad Luck Fale New Japan Cup 2017 Semi-finals Match

EVIL is in control as the match starts before Fale comes back with a splash in the corner and a normal one before EVIL counters a Bad Luck Fall. Fale then hits the Bad Luck Fall and the Grenade for the pin and the win. The match was seemingly just highlights as they sped through the match in a matter of moments.

Winner: Bad Luck Fale via pinfall

Katsuyori Shibata vs Tomohiro Ishii New Japan Cup 2017 Semi-finals Match

They start off with standing switches before Shibata locks in a top wrist lock that drops Ishii to the mat, Shibata focusing on the wrist of Ishii before trying to lock in a short arm scissor, but Ishii gets his foot on the ropes for the break. They exchange chops and forearms before Shibata stomps Ishii in the corner, then goes for a low dropkick, but Ishii comes out of the corner and drops him. Ishii headbutts Shibata and chops him repeatedly before Shibata gets in his face and tells him to bring it before collapses to the mat. Ishii then hits more chops when he ties Shibata in the ropes as we go to commercial.

We come back from commercial to the two exchanging chops before Ishii drops Shibata with one to the throat. Ishii hits Shibata with a series of forearms, then Shibata comes back with forearms of his own and a running dropkick in the corner before hitting a half hatch suplex for a quick two count. Shibata locks in an octopus stretch before Ishii slowly gets to the ropes for the break, then Shibata stomps on him before they exchange forearms until Ishii drops Shibata. Ishii whips Shibata into the corner before clotheslining him in the corner for a quick two count. They try to knock each other down before Ishii hits Shibata with forearms in the corner, but he gets up and walks through them before Ishii hits a powerslam. Shibata is right back up and hits a boot that drops Ishii before they exchange more forearms before Shibata hits an STO into an Indian Death Lock. Ishii gets to the ropes for the break, then Shibata drops him with a jumping boot before Shibata kicks him repeatedly until he collapses face first. Ishii comes back with chops to the throat as we go to commercial.

Ishii is in control as we come back from commercial, suplexing him and hitting a powerbomb for a near fall before clotheslining him repeatedly from front and back until he drops him with a lariat for another near fall. Shibata sits back up and Ishii hits a sliding lariat for another near fall, then they exchange strikes before Ishii hits an enzuigiri that drops Shibata. They get back to their feet and exchange headbutts and chops while sitting Indian style, then to their feet before Ishii hits a Saito suplex and Shibata comes back with a German suplex. Ishii puts Shibata in an armbar before he gets to the ropes, then hits him with a series of kicks before Shibata hits him with a leg lariat. Shibata then locks in a sleeper hold until Ishii passes out for the stop and the win.

Bad Luck Fale vs Katsuyori Shibata New Japan Cup 2017 Finals Match

Shibata sends Fale out of the ring as soon as the match starts, then Fale drags Shibata out of the ring and puts him in a bear hug. Fale beats on Shibata after tossing him into the crowd, then puts a shoulder lock on Shibata once he’s back into the ring before dragging him out of the ring and sending him into the ring post. Shibata gets back in the ring and collapses when Fale elbows his shoulder before Fale gets a quick two count as we go to commercial.

Fale stomps on the shoulder of Shibata and stands on him as we come back from commercial before getting another quick two count, then Shibata comes back with a running kick only for Fale to drop him with a shoulder block. Shibata hits a dropkick and one more in the corner before putting Ishii in a modified octopus stretch, but Fale gets to the ropes for the break. Fale sends Shibata onto the apron before knocking him to the floor, then Shibata comes back and chokes him with his shirt before rolling him back into the ring. Shibata brings a chair back into the ring before he hands it to Fale and dropkicks it when he catches it before trying to lock in a sleeper hold, but Fale powers out and hits a clothesline in the corner. Shibata counters a Grenade with a dropkick before Fale hits a spear for a near fall. Fale hits a Samoan drop for another near fall, then Shibata counters the Bad Luck Fall into a Fujiwara armbar and a triangle before he rolls over into an armbar. Fale gets to the ropes for the break, then Shibata hits him with a series of kicks before Fale drops him with a clothesline and hits a splash for a near fall. Fale hits the Grenade for yet another near fall, then Shibata counters the Bad Luck Fall into a sleeper hold before Fale powers out of it into a back drop suplex. Fale drops Shibata with a lariat, but he’s right back up and puts in another sleeper hold before he hits the PK for the pin and the win.

Sakura Genesis 2017 Part 1

Taguchi Japan vs Los Ingobernables de Japon

SANADA is in control of Taguchi as the match starts, SANADA countering hip attacks before they square off, then Taguchi hits a hip attack before tagging in Ricochet. Ricochet takes out EVIL on the apron before hitting a DDT to SANADA, then double kicks to EVIL and Naito before making Naito DDT EVIL. Ricochet hits a tope to SANADA on one side before hitting another to Naito and EVIL on the other side before tagging in Tana. Tana ties up SANADA before BUSHI interferes, then Tana hits a double dragon screw leg whip to both of them before EVIL clotheslines him from the apron. EVIL gets tagged in and gets hit with a series of strikes by Tana before they exchange running knees, then go nose to nose before EVIL hits a thrust kick, Tana countering with a slap and they run the ropes until EVIL turns Tana inside out with a lariat. Juice gets tagged in and takes out both BUSHI and Naito after EVIL tags Naito in before hitting a backbreaker into a side Russian leg sweep for a quick two count on Naito. SANADA stops Juice from hitting the Kill Switch on Naito, then all of LIJ team up on him before Tana counters a Destino to Juice with a sling blade. Chaos ensues as everyone hits each other with a move before Juice turns Naito inside out with a lariat, then hits the Kill Switch for the pin and the win.

Winner: Taguchi Japan via pinfall

War Machine vs Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima IWGP Tag Team Championship Match

Tenzan and Rowe start it off by trying to knock each other down until Tenzan drops Rowe with a series of Mongolian chops and headbutts. Rowe tags in Hanson and Tenzan tags in Kojima before Kojima tries repeatedly to knock over Hanson only for him cartwheel out of the way and hit a lariat before tagging Rowe back in. Rowe hits Kojima with a series of knees on the mat before War Machine double team him for a quick two count. War Machine tag in and out until Kojima comes back with a DDT and tags in Tenzan, Tenzan and Rowe trying to clothesline each other before Tenzan hits Rowe with Mongolian chops and headbutts until he collapses into a heap in the corner. Tenzan then hits a clothesline in the corner and a suplex for a quick two count as we go to commercial.

Rowe hits Tenzan with a jumping knee before Tenzan hits a blockbuster for a quick two count as we come back from commercial, then immediately locks in an anaconda vise that Hanson breaks up. Kojima gets tagged in and sends Hanson out of the ring before hitting Rowe with a series of chops in the corner and a running forearm. Kojima hits an elbow off of the top rope for a near fall, then hits Rowe with a series of forearms before Tenzan and Kojima hit a cutter to Rowe before Hanson accidentally splashes onto Rowe for a near fall. Tenkozi double team Rowe before Hanson gets the tag and hits both members of Tenkozi with clotheslines in the corner until he misses a moonsault. Koji then hits the Koji Cutter for a near fall before Kojima nearly turns Rowe inside out with a lariat. War Machine then hit their finisher for the pin and the win.

Winner: War Machine via pinfall

Zack Sabre Jr vs Hirooki Goto NEVER Openweight Championship Match

They start the match by grappling before ZSJ takes Goto down and starts focusing on his wrist, ZSJ putting on an armbar, then Goto locks in a knee bar, but ZSJ is quick to the ropes for the break as we go to commercial.

They grapple more as we come back from commercial until Goto drops ZSJ with a shoulder tackle and hits him with a series of forearms and chops in the corner. ZSJ rolls into a heel hook, but Goto gets to the ropes, then ZSJ starts focusing on joint manipulation before putting Goto in a wrist lock and  reverse toe hold combination. Goto tries to come back only for ZSJ to take him back down and lock in a twisted arm lock with a wrist lock before Goto frantically gets to the ropes. Goto comes back with a series of forearms only or ZSJ to take him back down and wrench his elbow before hitting a PK, then hits a running back elbow in the corner. Goto comes back with a rolling heel kick and a back drop suplex for a near fall before ZSJ puts him in a double wrist lock when he tries to go for the GTR. Goto then powers out of it with a suplex as we go to commercial.

We come back from commercial to Goto hitting a running lariat in the corner to ZSJ before ZSJ counters an elbow drop into a cross arm breaker before focusing on his wrist before Goto just barely gets to the wrists. They exchange strikes, Goto using forearms and ZSJ using European uppercuts before ZSJ locks in an octopus hold, Goto countering with an ushigaroshi for the break. El Desperado gets on the apron before Minoru comes from behind and sends him into the referee, then Minoru goes for the Gotch Style Piledriver, but Goto counters with an ushigaroshi before ZSJ puts Goto in a sphinx pin for a near fall. ZSJ puts Goto in a triangle, but he powers out of it into a powerbomb before headbutting him and hitting a reverse GTR into a GTR for the pin and the win.

Winner: Hirooki Goto via pinfall

Episode 3

Sakura Genesis 2017 Part 2

Hiromu Takahashi vs KUSHIDA IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship Match

KUSHIDA hits a flipping senton from the top rope before the match starts as Hiromu makes his way to the ring, then sets him on a chair while kicking his arm before hitting a shotgun dropkick that sends Hiromu into the crowd. KUSHIDA rolls him back into the ring for the match to start, then hits a kick to the arm before locking in the Hoverboard Lock, but Hiromu quickly gets to the ropes, then goes for the Time Bomb, but KUSHIDA gets to the ropes. KUSHIDA hits an enzuigiri before Hiromu hits a sunset flip powerbomb to the floor before rolling him back into the ring and hitting the Time Bomb twice for the pin and  the win.

Winner: Hiromu Takahashi via pinfall

-Ricochet comes out and says that he wants the next title shot as we go to commercial.

Kazuchika Okada vs Katsuyori Shibata IWGP World Championship Match

They start the match with grappling, the two changing levels before Shibata is all over Okada with grappling, switching positions with ease until they get back to their feet when they get into the ropes. Shibata tries to bait Okada into coming into his guard, Okada doing just that before Shibata gets his back and nearly locks in a rear naked choke. Okada counters a cross arm breaker once, but can’t the second time, but is close to the ropes for the break before rolling out of the ring to regroup with Gedo. Shibata tells him to come back in as the crowd chants for Shibata, then Okada gets back in the ring and they exchange wrist locks before they counter each other and get back to their feet as we go to commercial.

We come back to them exchanging wrist locks until Shibata puts Okada in a head lock that he has trouble to get out of, then Okada backs Shibata into the corner for a very unclean break, Shibata dropping him with a boot out of the corner. Shibata hits Okada with a series of forearms in the corner before Okada comes back with a running back elbow before they exchange forearms. Shibata gets the better of Okada before hitting a snapmare into a PK to the back of Okada before locking in figure four leg lock. Okada gets to the ropes for the break only for Shibata to put him in a surfboard stretch before Okada gets to the ropes for another break. Shibata whips Okada across the ring and hits a running boot in the corner before Okada sets him on the top rope and dropkicks him from the top rope to the floor. Okada goes out after Shibata and sends him into the railing before sending him into the crowd, then hits a draping DDT onto the floor. Shibata gets back in the ring at seventeen before Okada hits a hangman’s neckbreaker for a quick two count, then locks in Deep in Debt, but Shibata gets his foot on the bottom rope for the break, Okada not letting go until Red Shoes pulling him off. Okada then hits a snapmare into a dropkick as we go to commercial.

We come back from commercial to Okada in control, smashing the face of Shibata in the corner before hitting him with back elbows before they exchange forearms and Shibata hits a running boot in the corner repeatedly before finishing with a running dropkick in the corner. Shibata sends Okada into the railing before hitting him with a series of forearms, then hits another running dropkick into Okada at ringside. Shibata rolls Okada back into the ring for a near fall, then locks in an octopus stretch before Okada gets to the ropes for the break. Shibata hits Okada with a series of kicks to the chest before Okada comes back with a jumping back elbow in the corner and a DDT into a sliding European uppercut for a near fall of his own. They counter each other until Okada hits a flapjack, then Okada hits a scoop slam into an elbow drop from the top rope before he plays to the crowd with his RAINMAKER pose. Okada goes for the RAINMAKER, but Shibata counters into an STO before they get to their knees and exchange forearms. They exchange strikes until Okada hits a reverse neckbreaker and a springboard dropkick for a near fall before Shibata immediately locks in a double wrist lock, Okada quickly crawling to the ropes for the break. They exchange more strikes before Okada stomps on Shibata in the corner, then Shibata dropkicks Okada before hitting a snapmare into a kick to the back of the spine only for Okada to dropkick him as we go to commercial.

Okada hits a dropkick to Shibata as we come back from commercial, but Shibata gets right back up and hits a German suplex before Okada is back up and hits a shotgun dropkick before Shibata drops him with a boot. Okada then hits a series of German suplexes him before before going for the RAINMAKER, but Shibata counters with kicks to the arm before headbutting him to the mat. Shibata puts Okada in an octopus hold before they collapse to the mat and Okada gets to the ropes for the break before dropping Okada with a kick to the chest, then puts Okada in a sleeper hold before finishing with a sleeper suplex. Shibata drops Okada with a chop to the chest while holding the wrist of Okada before following up with several kicks, then Okada hits a RAINMAKER when Shibata starts to run the ropes before collapsing. They get back to their feet and Okada hits another RAINMAKER after kicking the face of Shibata repeatedly before hitting another RAINMAKER for the pin and the win.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada via pinfall
