New IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Crowned At NJPW Sakura Genesis
Roppongi 3K are back on top of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Division.
At NJPW Sakura Genesis, Roppongi 3K (SHO & YOH) regained the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles, defeating El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru in the co-main event.
The finish saw YOH hit a butterfly brainbuster on Kanemaru to score the win. The match was YOH’s first bout since June 2020. He had been sidelined with a torn ACL.
This marks the fifth IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title reign for Roppongi 3K. The Suzuki-gun duo had held the belts since February 25 when they defeated the Bullet Club duo of El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori. Desperado & Kanemaru made zero title defenses during their reign.
