New Champion Crowned On Raw

Bayley won her first title since moving to the WWE main roster, defeating Charlotte Flair on Monday night in the main event of Raw to become the new Raw Women's Champion.

Bayley's championship victory came with an assist from Sasha Banks, who hit both Dana Brooke and Charlotte with a crutch, with the latter shot setting up Bayley hitting her "Bayley To Belly" finisher to win the match and the title. Banks and Bayley celebrated the victory after the match.

An eight-year pro, Bayley moved up to the main roster of WWE this past August, after a one-night-only appearance as Banks' mystery tag partner for a match against Charlotte and Dana Brooke at Battleground in July. Bayley developed a wildly beloved following during her time in NXT, which included a 224-day reign as NXT Women's Champion. Bayley defeated Banks to win that title, then retained in an Ironman Match between the two in the summer of 2015. Both those matches received widespread acclaim.

Charlotte Flair saw her fourth reign as Raw champion come to a close. All four of her title losses have aired on Raw, as the second-generation star has a win streak in pay-per-view matches that has been heavily promoted by WWE.

As the countdown continues to WrestleMania 33 on April 2, both WWE women's titles changed hands in a span of just over 24 hours. Last night, at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss to become the Smackdown Women's Champion.
