Mustafa Ali Does Not Want To Be In The Royal Rumble, Would Still Like To Be Released By WWE

Mustafa Ali would not like to take part in the Royal Rumble.

On January 16, 2022, Mustafa Ali officially requested his release from WWE. In his statement, he proclaimed that he has dreams that are bigger than the world of professional wrestling and he believes that he will not be able to share his greater message while still under contract with WWE.

“I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE,” he wrote.

Less than two weeks later, those that Fightful Select reported that WWE and Ali have spoken with each other and that Ali was informed that they would not be granting his request for a release at this moment.

Taking to Twitter on the morning of the 2022 Royal Rumble, Mustafa Ali is still looking to get out of his contract.

Ali was last featured on WWE television losing to Drew McIntyre in 2 minutes on the October 29 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. On November 5, he was seen talking to Ricochet about a potential partnership.

Ali also posted this unaired promo to social media on November 13.

Fightful will have live coverage of the Royal Rumble this evening beginning at 7 p.m. ET. To view the full card for the event, click here.
