Here’s your Fight Size update following WWE NXT on August 15, 2023.

– Mustafa Ali delivered a passionate message in which he stated that he was the NXT North American Champion the people deserve.

– The Family (Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo) defended the NXT Tag Team Championship against The Dyad (Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler). Ivy Nile came out, and a masked follower of Schism attacked Fowler. D’Angelo capitalized and scored the win.

– Trick Williams faced Drew Gulak. Damon Kemp and Charlie Dempsey accompanied Gulak to the ring. Dempsey suplexed Williams at ringside during the bout. Williams took the fight to Dempsey and Kemp, but Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen made the save. Williams then clinched the win over Gulak. 

– Joe Coffey faced Tyler Bate in a singles match. Dabba-Kato returned during the match and attacked Bate.

– Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio challenged Lyra Valkyria and Dragon Lee to a match on NXT Heatwave.

– Wes Lee earned a shot at the NXT Championship by defeating Dijak, thanks to a timely assist by Eddy Thorpe.

– Wes Lee confronted Carmelo Hayes backstage. Lee came to the ring for an impromptu contract signing. NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes joined him, and they traded verbal shots. Hayes told Lee he can’t beat him. Lee said he had spent years turning doubters into believers. He then stomped through the table.

– Andre Chase noted that he got Thea Hail a match with Jacy Jayne so she could get some anger out. Hail showed up, and she was still frustrated. She told Chase not to throw in the towel this time.

– Baron Corbin came to the ring and noted that, thanks to him, Gable Steveson wouldn’t be coming back. He called everyone in the back soft. Corbin stated that he is ushering in a new era of Baron Corbin, as he would be taking his place back in the main event. Von Wagner, alongside Mr. Stone, answered. Stone said Wagner was standing in Corbin’s way. Corbin told Wagner that he had to learn how to cut a promo. Wagner said he might not talk a lot, but Corbin talks too much. Wagner told Corbin his past gimmicks sucked. He told Corbin he’s in his way. Wagner challenged him to a match. They brawled until they were separated.

– Dana Brooke took on Blair Davenport. Brooke’s newfound aggression was evident throughout the match. In the end, Davenport scored the win.

– Dragon Lee and Lyra Valkyria discussed their upcoming match with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. 

– Ilja Dragunov sent a heated message to Trick Williams.

– Bron Breakker confronted Baron Corbin and took issue with him picking a fight with Von Wagner.

– Nathan Frazer hosted a new edition of Hard Hitting Home Truths.Noam Dar interrupted. Frazer called him a fraud as tensions rose ahead of their title match.

– Thea Hail, still clearly frustrated, took on Jacy Jayne. Andre Chase accidentally cost her the match, and Hail stormed off.

– A vignette highlighted Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo.

– In an NXT Digital Exclusive, Trick Williams looked forward to his match with Ilja Dragunov. 

–  Ava challenged Ivy Nile to face her in an NXT Digital Exclusive.

– Dijak targeted Eddy Thorpe in a post-show tweet.
